Literature Text

I'm a savage in a suit.
You haven't seen my painted face.
I can act mannered and astute.
I have walked with poise and grace,
but it is passion I embrace.
I am feral and I am wild.
In these walls I'm out of place.
At the heart I am reviled.

I'm a savage in a suit.
Someone remove this silken noose.
I refuse to stand and salute.
Execution is of no use.
So unleash me and let me loose.
For kings I will not break or bow.
My mind you never can seduce.
All lords and rules I disavow.

I'm a savage in a suit.
you can't change my savage ways.
I'm a savage at the root.
The one who runs, never obeys,
so I don't seek the leader's praise.
I do not need a man's repute.
I do not fear the lawman's gaze.
for I'm a savage in a suit.
This was inspired by my friends of misanthropic and non-traditional nature.

I loved the way you handled this poem. And the title! I loved the title

What I think about the savage in a suit is a Swiss Banker - or Hitman (from the Hitman series) - because even though they are loyal to their clients, the rest of the poem applies to them significantly: many of the attributes shown in this poem could be taken to indicate their avarice towards what the 'establishment' would want them to do. Because they're in a suit, they're able to get away with what they do (making it all "officious" like, as portrayed in the first stanza).

This rhyme scheme you've used here, as well as the poetic template, works really well here. Its a good poem, frankly. :)
